Police say two young teens got up before dawn to smash into a Maverick Square phone repair shop, then returned an hour later to steal even more phones

Boston Police report arresting two 14-year-olds they say stole 23 phones and 3 digital watches in two trips into a phone-repair shop at 201 Sumner St., across from the Maverick Square T stop in East Boston.

Police say surveillance video from the Celltronic store shows the early risers using stones to smash a front window at 4:56 a.m.

At that time, the suspects stole multiple cell phones from a wall display. The suspects later returned an hour later and broke the glass counter display, and stole more cell phones. Approximately thirty minutes later the suspects returned and stole more cell phones and electronics.

When somebody called 911 to report the smash-in, police began cruising the area looking for the young alleged burglars and found them around 8:10 a.m. nearby:

As officers attempted to place one of the juveniles into handcuffs, he actively resisted. Officers were able to safely handcuff both suspects.

Both were taken to the new East Boston police station for booking on charges of being delinquent for breaking and entering and receiving stolen property, police say.

Police add that although the store has an alarm system, it did not go off when the front window was initially broken.

If they only could stay in school and go on to college they could be like the young workforce making six figures in Boston who spend most of their money on rent.

I remember my son's guidance counselor braying that "colleges are demanding that internships start after freshman year now".

These guys were just getting ahead of the game.
