Rich Massholes are different from you and me

It's a good thing I rarely have any reason to go to the Atrium Mall, because otherwise one day I would just go berserk in the garage and key everything in sight, and even as I sat in the lockup at the Newton Police Department waiting for my wife to bail me out (assuming she wouldn't let me just stew there overnight), I wouldn't feel the least bit sorry.

What makes the above scene (captured this very afternoon) so special is that when we got back from the mall, Left Masshole had left and a New Masshole parked exactly the same way:

...the new MassHole was from Maine...

I'm impressed. I could not tell from the photo posted here, but yep, when I called up the original, that SUV is what it means to be from Maine. Must be from the Portland area - isn't that where they herd all the yuppies?

This looks like a perfect submission for www.youparklikeanasshole.com! I shop at the Atrium pretty frequently and I too fear a mental break at some point when I see parking jobs like this EVERY SINGLE TIME I go there!

Yep, mailed 'em off to that site.

Everyone drives like a/an (M)asshole. I nearly got out of my car four times driving through Providence to explain what a solid white line means when painted on a road. Clearly, solid yellow lines don't really register with people either.

Federal Hill has green, white and red center lines. Therefore, the confusion of our friends to the south is somewhat justified.

Nope, on 95 with all the construction. I don't think they understand what the solid white doesn't mean, as I was passed easily 10 times in two miles.

other than, maybe, dividing a shoulder from the travel lanes. Of course, in Massachusetts, at some times of day, some shoulders are travel lanes.

A solid white line means no passing/switching lanes. Once you're back to the dashes, you can pass all you want, but the solid means you have to stay put. Which would be nice in the clusterf*ck that is Providence right now, since they're doing the Big Diglet.

I'd never heard of this before. Is it something unique to Rhode Island?

Check out page 25.

I guess I was slightly off-- you CAN pass, but only when it is necessary. It was not in the case of the jackholes who were just wandering around the highway. Though I'm pretty sure my driver's ed teacher told us not to pass when you see a solid white line on a highway.

This is going to drive me nuts.
