Allston scooter guy sought for theft of $70,000 viola
Boston Police report they're looking for a guy who gets around Allston on a black scooter they say stole a $70,000 viola on Glenville Avenue - and are looking for help finding him.
Police say the guy is White, between 30 and 40 and 5'9" to 6' with a stocky build, light mustache and beard and dark curly hair. Police say he was last spotted around 3 p.m. on Harvard Avenue - with dark blue tattoos on his forearms and wearing hoop earrings.
The viola looks like, well, a viola and was in a case covered with BU stickers:

And any pawn shop that reads the news will know it's too hot to move.

Violist left luggage, an iPad, credit cards, and his passport out overnight, and this guy nicks a viola of unknown value. It could have been a rental or a cheap Chinese squeaker. The possibility of fencing a viola is maybe not so good.
Was all the other stuff gone first? Did he make multiple trips? Where's the iPad?
