Citizen complaint of the day: If at first you don't succeed, complain, complain again

A peeved, yet still somehow not completely outraged, citizen files a 311 complaint about a car that has long been parked on Leyden Street in East Boston:
This is my 63rd report on this vehicle. I've decided to start numbering again - really helps me remember how little is getting done. Same white Honda Civic, MA plate 4AE 563, no EB sticker, parked on Leyden street. Every. Single. Day. Why will you not enforce 2 hour parking on Leyden Street? Please enforce 2 hour parking limits each day on Leyden Street. I believe in you. Courage.

North Shore Parker
That Hondas Civic is somebody front the North Shore parking on Leyden Street and walking to Orient Height Station to go to work downtown. Oldest trick in the book. North Shore suburbanites have been using East Boston as a free parking lot for years. They park near Orient Heights and they especially park in the vicinity of Wood Island Station.
I appreciate the spirit and intention behind...
... this person's complaint/report.
Solid, objective, and looking for a reasonable solution.
Is 311 the right POC for
Is 311 the right POC for reporting parking violations, or should a person call 911 to speak to BPD dispatch?
Agreed
I appreciate their insistence that BTD patrol the area, but 911 will get a quicker response.
I searched part of the license plate number. They are not kidding about the number of times this car has been reported.
311 is a joke
It started to deteriorate during Marty Walsh's second term. It has gotten worse with Wu. Things like abandoned cars are not taken care of.
In my experience, the 311
In my experience, the 311 things that get decent response are broken street lights, broken street signs and trash violations -fines generally get issued quickly for those around me, whether they get collected is another question.
Reporting traffic/parking issue to 311 is a complete waste of time; I have gotten response to illegal parking weeks to months after the report -if at all.
The best is
when you report illegal parking to 311, and get a response back 3 months later: "we checked, the vehicle's not there anymore". Well, yeah, I would hope not!
