People heading to Suffolk Downs are probably wearing some frowns

If it's not the trains or the tracks, what else could go wrong on the T? Try the platforms. The MBTA reports outbound Blue Line trains are bypassing Suffolk Downs because of "a platform maintenance issue," which probably means something on the platform is no longer safe. Riders can take the train to Beachmont, then head over to the other side to get off at the inbound side of Suffolk Downs.

Sabotage?
This pushes reality into absurdity. Are there T staff purposely creating problems out of some desire for revenge against other T staff they dislike?
If they are then they are
If they are then they are trying to kill riders.
Willingness to sabotage does not equal thinking it out
The animus that motivates a person to sabotage stations, trains, buses, etc. does not necessarily include the question: "If mess with a station will people be hurt?"
From conversations with folks I know at the T there is a lot of personal dysfunction among T staff. The kind of dysfunction that stews in anger and rage. Stewing in the negative space might propel people to doing things which are not necessarily direct sabotage, but instead are just ignoring issues that allowed to worsen eventually result in failure.
For years the Ashmont Station had actual stalactites hanging from the ceiling. No one at the T ever noticed? If just one of those calcium buildups - pointy at the end - had fallen onto a person's head that would have caused harm. How many years did the degraded steps at JFK, that resulted in the death of a man, go unnoticed? Or were they noticed but ignored?
Safety at the T has become a joke. How is that no one ever noticed? Or was it ignored over and over?
Dysfunction is perhaps too gentle a word to describe what has seemingly become standard operating procedure at the T.
But safety is the T’s top priority
I know this because it says so on a poster at Forest Hills Station.
Almost directly underneath the poster, something fell from the ceiling onto the platform. There is still water coming from the ceiling, even where there hasn’t been rain for a week.

The Blue Line was completely rebuilt between Orient Heights and Wonderland in 1994 and 1995. Do you meant to tell me that it's falling apart after only 27 years of non-maintenance?

Have you ever looked at Charles/MGH? It was totally rebuilt in 2007, but the platforms are a wavy mess and are held up by wooden 2x4s.
Everything's been going
Everything's been going downhill ever since they sold Wonderland Park was sold for condos. All of Boston had an interest in Eastie back then. The airport, not so much.
Are you saying that the MBTA went to the dogs?
I'd say "get a horse"
but Suffolk Downs no longer has horses.
DEJA VU
For nearly 8 years (1976-1984) only the inbound platform was open... a fire had destroyed the outbound platform.
