Turner Broadcasting: Our bad
Ed Harding on Channel 5: "We are just learning that CNN is reporting" that Turner Broadcasting is admitting the mooninite stunt is, in fact, all its doing, as part of an ad campaign for, yes, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Nat: "Apparently there is an icon, a symbol, perhaps we will be able to get and share with you."
Ed Harding is just stunned! "It's tucked under a bridge abutment; who's going to see this?!?" Dear Lord, could somebody explain the concept of LEDs to Ed?
Nat: "The packages are magnetic lights, that pose no danger." Allegedly been in place here for three weeks.
Nat is now wondering why Turner would think it would be good advertising to place "bombs" around a city? Dear Lord, could somebody explain the concept of LEDs to Nat?

Been there 3 weeks.....
Not sure which concerns me more. That such a prank can bring the city to a standstill or that it took three weeks for someone to notice them.
If this had been a real emergency, I am sure things would have been handled much better. HA!!!!
Turner Broadcasting did this?
Hoo boy -- Faux News Channel is going to have a field day with this.
Funny, that.
I wonder how CNN got the scoop on the announcement to be made by Turner Broadcasting.
And PLEASE tell these people that inspite of the response, this wasn't a bomb hoax. They were just LED lights. The point wasn't to scare the city into wetting itself. It was just a little light up ad.
It was an ad campaign
It was an ad campaign malfunction.
See you in court, Turner
Menino just issued a statement:
sometimes, I just wish
sometimes, I just wish Hizzoner would shut the hell up.
what a fiasco!
This whole thing is ridiculous! I can't believe the hissy being made out of this. Some notes of worth:
1. There must be a marketing displace between advertisers/gov't/ cities - etc....being 35 and seeing them for the past 4 months in other cities I automatically thought "TV advertising" when I first noticed the lights.
2. Turner should have notified the City or cities as common courtesy/a good neighbor. I'm not sure but it seems as though Boston would have some sort of signage [bill boards, etc] policy in their zoning ordinance that could have avoided this...if not they should adopt a policy. I guess the example of this would be the same as applying for a building permit...
