Police look for man they say pulled a knife on a security guard at Melnea Cass Boulevard supermarket

Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say pulled a knife on a security guard who tried to keep him from walking out of Tropical Foods, 450 Melnea Cass Blvd. with items he hadn't paid for Sunday afternoon.

The man crossed the store parking lot on foot to Williams Street, then took a right onto Washington Street, shortly before 2 p.m. police say.

This is a textbook case on why anyone except a LPO (loss prevention officer) should attempt to stop a shoplifter. You do not know what they have in mind if you do! Today its a knife, tomorrow it could be a gun.
