Owl was not happy. Photo by Needham PD.
Needham Police report three officers were dispatched this morning to the Pollard Middle School on a report of an owl trapped in a soccer net.
After some careful handing and cutting of the soccer net, the owl was able to be removed and flew off under their own power!

Thinking that I was hot (expletive) for coaxing an insect out through an open window yesterday.
Good police work.

They netted some great photos. I'm glad it was able to fly off given that it was probably extremely tired at that point.

Owls always look pretty pissed off, just in general, but this one (understandably) looks particularly angry at the undignified position he's in. Glad everything turned out OK.

"I was only sitting in the tree, minding my own business, when a group of turkeys asked me if I had any bagels or bread. I told them no, so they shook me out of the tree and I fell out. They tied me up and cackled before they ran off. I'm not mad at you, sir...just the situation."
