We made our bi-annual visit to Fenway last night. Was a great game, although the kidlet started getting really disgusted and even a bit outraged after Buchholz gave up two early runs and she wasn't the least bit assuaged when I told her that's nothing, especially the way the Sox have been hitting and she shouldn't really worry unless he gives up four or five runs, which I probably shouldn't have said, since that's just what he did, but fortunately, Our Boys proceeded to score six in one inning and all ended well and she loved singing and dancing to "Shipping Up to Boston" when Paps came in to shut it down in the ninth.
In any case, I was impressed with this guy who wore a Gagne shirt. Maybe time heals all wounds, but I didn't spot any Lugo jerseys.
Like the job UHub is doing? Consider a contribution. Thanks!

Must be his favorite hat as well. Looks like it has seen better days. Speaking of Red Sox gear. For some reason whenever I see guys that are thirtyish and overweight wearing a red sox jersey with matching cap and shorts they remind me of little boys. Little boys who refuse to grow up.
Oh no!

Someone is choosing to wear baseball paraphernalia to the stadium! Let's get him! We must force him force him to take off his hat and mold his hair into a fauxhawk. Give him some plaid shorts, leather sandals, and an organic t-shirt featuring a dragon and some random words etched in calligraphy on the front! Afterwards, we'll tar and feather him. Be like us! Be like us!

I think you missed the point. Gagne was a notoriously bad reliever in '07 after having some great years elsewhere. Most Sox fans are glad to be rid of him and happy to see that chapter closed. That's why it's strange to see this particular jersey now.
If you were trying to be funny, it didn't work.

I think Jimmy was referring to the broader crack about boys and their jerseys, not the Gagne reference.

This guy is referencing the Eric Gagné Award for the Greatest Helper of Opposing Teams.
Yeah, this is an award I made up, but never mind. The question is: Who deserves it most this year? Smoltz? Penny? Lugo?
