Now that they've exposed Obama's plan to kill your grandmother, the wingnuts are flooding Massachusetts with urgent warnings that Massachusetts plans to force people to get flu shots this fall.

Not true, says Domenico Bettinelli, no fan of Democrats:

Well if an individual doesn't get a shot then the government can quarantine them, which is kind of forcing them to get the shot under penalty of house arrest.

Find me a civilization that hasn't / doesn't practice(d) quarantine. Even the most remote villages usually have this sorted out pretty well. (Hint: If you ever find yourself far from the urban centers of Africa and come across a village where large trees have been cut down across the main paths leading to the settlement, you might want to consider going somewhere else. Somewhere really far away.)

Quarantine is nasty and rarely used. But sometimes it's necessary.

You need to remove the trailing slash from the second link or you get a 403 Forbidden error.

Also, something worth pointing out from Domenico's entry is that NONE of this goes into effect (even the true quarantine abilities in the bill) unless the Governor has declared a state emergency.

By the way, quarantining isn't an internment camp or anything. It happens all the time in hospitals, particularly with tuberculosis. This whole thing is an unhealthy dose of Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt mixed with some flat out lying.
