Boston Police report finding two men shot yesterday evening. William Branch, 38, of Dorchester, found at 222 Norwell St. around 6:35 p.m., died. The second man, 35, found at the corner of Harvard and Warner streets three minutes earlier, is in critical condition at Boston Medical Center.
Police say the two were together when one of them got into a fight with a group of men. This then led to a second fight, at which point they were shot.
This was not Branch's first brush with violence. In 1989, he was beaten, kicked and stabbed twice in a fight on Stanwood Street, the Globe reported (fee or Globe subscription required to see full story).
Branch was Dorchester's second murder victim yesterday and the 21st this year. List/map.
