mine too... i live about 300 feet from there. Jesus that is scary. As gas stations go JP Oil is pretty great, open 24 hours and attendant Steve is just about the nicest man on the planet. I'm grateful no one was hurt...
What a shame

It's my local ZipCar spot too. (so YOU'RE the one always snagging my Prius!)
The guy who runs it is a fixture – he's a credit to the neighborhood.
Yours?

Ahem. It's not your Prius. Sharing is what Zipcar's all about.

I think he was being facetious. Since the Prius rates are the lowest, they're always the first to go.
Cheapest & first to go

Yes, I know that. We spend a fair amount of energy strategizing to book the Prius in our own neighborhood whenever we can, for the same reason. But except for the day recently when we spent over half an hour waiting for the previous user to return the car LATE (and had to give up in the end and book another vehicle half a mile's walk away) we don't consider it ours.
fixture?

JP Oil repeatedly parks their customer and private cars in the Zipcar spaces, so when you get back, you have nowhere to park. So the attendant offers to park it for you, and then the next morning you get a bitchy call from Zipcar demanding to know where you parked the car, because the next renter can't find it.
my wife and have used zipcars

my wife and have used zipcars from JP Oil 1-3 times a week for the last year and a half and have never encountered this..... The only time one of the attendants initiated contact with me was once after I parked Steve chased me down to let me know that their machines now accept the zipcar gas card, so next time i need to fill the tank at the end of a reservation i knew i didn't have to stop somewhere else (they had just gotten new credit machines and the zipcar cards didn't work at first)
