Wicked Local Allston/Brighton reports a man who got into an argument at the Draught Bar on Harvard Avenue stewed about it for a couple weeks before coming up with the perfect retort: Getting a sawed-off shotgun and finding the guy and then robbing him and two acquaintances. And, of course, what good's a moral victory without letting the loser know? So Shotgun dude took off his mask long enough to sneer.

probably not the victims house on rugg road. its a street right next to the sports depot and across from the bottom of harvard ave where the draught is located (formerly the kinvara). sounds like somebody had a beef at the draught and came back looking to settle the score.that is my guess.luckily this wasnt the third murder in that area in the last few months.

Rugg Road isn't exactly "right next to the Sports Depot" - it's off Cambridge Street about halfway between Harvard Avenue and Union Square. However, it's true that if the robbery took place on that street it's unlikely to have been at an apartment - Google Streetview shows nothing but a couple of industrial buildings and some parking.

contains some artists' lofts, some of which may be live-in. The annual Allston Open Studios always has some stops on Rugg Road.

You're right, the original story doesn't mention a house; I should be a more careful reader.
And yes, this guy sounds like he needs to be caught before he actually uses the gun.

Able Rug had an outlet over there in the 70s/80s that I always associated with Rugg Road, but I don't think the two were actually related other than by their proximity. The street has probably been named that since seventeen-aught-something.

Try Draft. Wicked Local really sucks, don't they?
As for "not so tough now", well yeah. You used a gun against a person who didn't have one. This should be grounds for capital punishment.
Oh yeah?
