Man shot to death in Dorchester; first murder of the year

Boston Police report a man in his 20s was shot shortly before 2 p.m. at 23 Trull St. He was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The house is across the street from where Edward Andrade was fatally shot in the head last April.

Wasn't last year's first murder much earlier, and also in Dorchester?

in a lot of cities it is on the early hours of new years day because everyone is heavily intoxicated. It probably wasnt in dorchester last year though, most of the city's murders occur elsewhere

Who knows if they're accurate though. Looks like 2011 had its first murder around the 4th of January, in Dorchester:
