Man found dead at Roxbury fire had been stabbed repeatedly, police say

Boston Police report Santo Alcadio Bernabel, 69, of Hazelton, PA, suffered multiple stab wounds at 104 Winthrop St. Friday night and that they and Boston Fire investigators are now looking at whether the five-alarm fire was set.

As of tonight, Boston Police Homicide Detectives along with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office have retained jurisdiction in this case. Boston Police and Boston Fire Arson Investigators are conducting a thorough investigation surrounding the cause of the fire.

The fire displaced 30 residents.

Unbelievable... If it turns out this fire was set to cover up a homicide (likely outcome IMO) then the people responsible should just be buried under the friggin' jail. I was listening to the scanner while this was going on. The resources required to put this fire out, resulting injuries, and so many people without a home... I don't even know what to say right now. Keep us posted Adam!
