Police: Teen with loaded gun in hand arrested after foot chase

Boston Police report arresting a 15-year-old they say led officers on a foot chase through backyards and over chain-link fences near Dudley Square yesterday evening - with a gun visible in his hand for much of the chase.

Police say gang-unit and SWAT members who happened to be on patrol around 6:45 p.m. near the B-2 police station responded to a call about a guy running down Washington Street with a gun:

[They] converged on the suspect who attempted to evade officers by running through several neighborhood backyards and jumping chain link fences during the pursuit. During the entirety of the foot pursuit, officers could see the firearm clearly displayed in the suspect's right hand. Officers were able to catch up to the suspect, later identified as a 15 year old juvenile male from Roxbury, placing him in custody in the rear of a residence on Winthrop Street. Officers then recovered a loaded Sig Sauer Mosquito Firearm nearby which the suspect had discarded just prior to being apprehended.

‪#‎AGE15‬ Other than running around with a damn gun!

What should teens be doing at 15?
(including those that can't find a summer job.)

I imagine these aren't your average Dunkies chasing a well armed 15 year old through those backyards.
