Police hunt alleged gay basher in Kenmore Square attack

Boston Police report they are looking for a man they say attacked two women and kicked a man in Kenmore Square on July 4.
Police said the man made "anti-gay comments" as he attacked the two women.
He's about 6' in his 20s and has a buzz cut. he was wearing a black shirt, a black jacket and bluejeans at the time, and carried a black backpack.
Police say the guy in the photo is not yet formally charged with anything, but that the department's civil-rights detectives would love to have a chat with him. I'M NOT DEFENDING ASSAULT OR GAY BASHING:
July 4th
Alcohol and other intoxicating substances are being used and abused at higher levels than usual
Vast influx of transient visitors to the downtown core (including Kenmore Sq area)
Anyone familiar with this kind of environment knows tension rises with crowded conditions, adding in the 'party' type atmosphere.
Are there any independent verified accounts of the assaults? Security camera? Clear audio of the words exchanged?
This guy may of course really be just a complete asshole, but consider the above. BTW I'm bisexual and open about it. Yes, people assaulted for just being homosexual or stereotypically appearing to be homosexual does occur. I also know gay, lesbian, bi, transgendered are just as capable of being disorderly, antisocial, starting argument or fight, and playing the innocent victim, as anyone else.
And July 4th was a hot day and night. Why isn't he dressed more appropriately? He's not even wearing a ss shirt.

Not that this guy isn't a scumbag, but why do people keep perpetrating the "all homophobes and gay bashers are closet cases" myth? It's a fallacy. This inaccurate knee jerk reaction does no good in combating homophobia or educating the public.

There is a difference between " anti-gay pastors and politicians caught sucking cock" and homophobes. Homophobes actually hate LGBT people for whatever reasons that don't necessarily have to do with them being gay themselves, which they are likely not. The "anti-gay pastors and politicians caught sucking cock" are just gay people pretending not to be gay. This may sound like semantics, but there IS a difference. They actually like being gay or they would recoil from said activities.

Saw a guy on bike mocking a woman on a bike when he almost ran into her as he blew through a red light. After he cycled passed me and another guy with a German Shepherd waiting to cross the intersection (on foot), the dog growled and lunged at him. Thought it was pretty funny -- karma's a bitch. I just wish the woman on the bike could have seen it.
