Gun-toting road rager foiled in getaway when his moped stalls, police say

Boston Police report arresting a man for a road-rage incident in the South End this afternoon.

Police say Giovanni Pagan, 25, reacted to being passed on Tremont Street near Mass. Ave. around 1 p.m. by smacking the driver's mirror and, when the driver pulled over to check the damage, pulled his little putt-putting cycle over, whipped out a gun and used it to threaten the motorist.

According to the victim, the suspect was last seen pushing his moped away from the scene because the moped had stalled. In short time, officers located an individual fitting the suspect’s description in the area of 9 Trotter Court.

Officers took the victim over there and he identified Pagan, who was then arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, police say, adding that by the time officers got to him, he no longer had the gun.

Innocent, etc.

Before police could move into arrest Giovanni Pagan, 17, of 326 Liberty St., they watched him get on a motor scooter and drive off, Delaney said.

According to the article you cite he was 17 in April of 2011, which would make him 22 today. This Giovanni Pagan, also a scooter rider, is 25 yrs old. Not the same person.

Either that or they just got his age wrong. How many scooter riding criminals named Giovanni Pagan are cruising the streets of Massachusetts?

Edit: Huh! I did a people search and the the answer is two. I stand corrected. :)

With or without a gun, assault is never funny.

a dude's moped stalling so that he has to push it as he tries to escape from the police is funny. you can disagree, but don't pretend like humor can't be found in this situation.

that and the fact that apparently somebody with the same name is going around committing similar crimes.

but no, nothing funny to see here. the world is black and white. boop beep.
