Gunfire leads police to two suspects, three guns and drugs in Mattapan
Boston Police report officers responding to reports of a woman screaming at 25 West Selden St. in Mattapan early Sunday heard a shot ring out from inside the building.
Police say the officers quickly found two guys, acting suspicious, with a gun and bullet fragments nearby. They detained them, peered inside the basement apartment one of them rushed into when he spotted cops and observed two more guns, police say.
With a search warrant, police did a more thorough search of the apartment and came up with an inventory that included the two guns, both loaded, seven rounds of ammo, 11 plastic bags of a green substance believed to be marijuana, one bag of what appeared to be cocaine, a scale, more plastic bags and "other drug paraphernalia consistent with the illegal sale of narcotics."
Larelle Pratt, 28, of Mattapan, and Shyrone Brown, 25, of Dorchester, were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm (for the second time for Brown), discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, assault by means of a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to murder, police say.
Pratt then had charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (shod foot), assault and battery on a public employee and threatening to commit murder, after, police say, he resisted arrest by spitting on officers, kicking them and "threatening to kill them and their children."
Innocent, etc.
