Police say illegal gun falls at officers' feet in Mattapan

Boston Police report seizing four guns on city streets Saturday and Sunday, including one that fell down a man's pants in Mattapan.

Police say that around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, officers had pulled over a car on Deering Road near Blue Hill Avenue for an equipment violation:

The officers had stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation and were in the process of removing the front seat passenger, later identified as Alex Perez-Gonzalez, 19, of Mattapan, as part of their investigation when a firearm fell from the waistband area of his pants and hit the ground.

The officers quickly cuffed Perez-Gonzalez and then picked up the gun, determined to be a .40-caliber Taurus 740 Slim previously reported as stolen in Hookset, NH, police say.

Perez-Gonzalez was charged with carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and receiving stolen property, police say.

Innocent, etc.

The people I meet in my office aren't carrying illegal guns. (I'm pretty sure).

Thanks to these officers for doing what they do.

I hope you won't be. A guy at a high-tech firm I worked for was summarily fired when they found a .357 in a file drawer in his work area. He had real anger issues, too.

... that they should invest in a nice leg or ankle holster, but NO, they gotta go all street-style and tuck the gun in their waistbands.

Sometimes function is worth suffering form that you don't like.

The things people suffer for fashion.
