Man charged with stabbing women in series of Mattapan purse snatchings

Boston Police report a woman was stabbed in the leg and her purse stolen around 10:50 p.m. on Monday on Walk Hill Street at Mulvey Street.

Police say arriving officers nabbed a man seen running from the scene - and that, based on the victim's description, he was not only the culprit but was wanted for similar attacks in the area in recent days. Also, he still had a knife on him, police say, adding the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Walker Browning, 25, of Mattapan, was arrested on charges of armed robbery, assault by means of a dangerous weapon and intent to rob while armed.
