Police: Man arrested despite hiding under bed after shots fired on Brook Avenue in Roxbury
Boston Police report officers investigating gunfire on Brook Avenue around 3 a.m. were looking for a man witnesses spotted dashing into a house after the retorts when they shined their flashlights on 42 Brook Ave. - and spotted a man at a second-floor window duck down:
A search of the dwelling enabled officers to locate an individual hiding under a bed on the second floor. While talking to the suspect, officers quickly ascertained that the individual did not live at the address. A more extensive search of the location with help from a BPD K-9 Officer and his partner, Rocky, enabled officers to discover and recover a firearm and empty magazine found in a bedroom closet.
Carlos Barros, 32, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm on a public way and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, police say.
