Boston Police report a man was shot shortly before 3 a.m. at 12 Greenwood St., near Ellington Street. He was declared dead at the scene.
WBZ identifies the victim as Kendric Price of Dorchester, an assistant men's basketball coach at UMass Boston. He played basketball for the University of Michigan.
This is at least Boston's ninth murder in 2019.

Looks like an upstanding young man. What a shame. I wonder what happened here. Prayers to his memory and his family.

His life mattered, regardless of whether he was upstanding.
And what happened was that someone shot him. "I wonder what happened here" seems appropriate pondering regarding someone who did something wrong, not someone who was a victim.

May God continue to be with Kendric's family friends and all that are hurt because of this unwarranted murder. My deepest sympathy to the community. Kendric' s untimely lost is a great loss to humanity. To anyone who is a servant of people the world has lost a helper.
No one deserves to be murder.
