Woman shot on Boylston Street in the Back Bay

Around 2 a.m. outside the CVS near Dartmouth Street.

As usual, UniversalHub has the first (and thus far, only) reporting on this incident that I've been able to find. Nothing on BostonGlobe.com, BostonHerald.com, or even the bdpnews.com. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but one would think a story like this would be treated as breaking news. Perhaps all available personnel are busy reporting important stories like the Patriots game.

Anyone seen any more details?

The mavens of the Back Bay probably suppressed the publicizing of this event, so that it doesn’t affect their property values.

Give it a rest.

Somebody got shot

Any updates? Is she ok?

So what was the source of the news then? Police scanner? Twitter?

Although the second source relies mainly on the scanner as well, so let's just go with that.

How many shootings happen every year in Boston? Do each get coverage in the newspapers? I know the answers to both questions, do you?

...but still no coverage in the "mainstream" media or the Boston Police update page, at least none that I've seen. Is it possibly a false alarm, or has our local press just given up on local crime coverage? I know the Globe and Herald are hurting for revenue, but I wouldn't even consider paying for a digital subscription if this kind of reporting is obsolete.
