Man charged with Christmas armed robbery of Mattapan market

Boston Police report arresting one of the two men they say robbed the Family Food Shop at 609 Walk Hill St. in Mattapan shortly after 8 p.m. on Christmas.

District B-3 Detectives were able to recover store surveillance footage which shows two male suspects enter wearing masks while brandishing a firearm and robbing the store. The suspects made off with approximately $250.00 in US currency and more than $1900.00 in Massachusetts lottery tickets.

Police report fugitive-unit officers arrested Sanders Volcy, 24, of Dorchester, yesterday afternoon on a charge of robbery while armed and masked.

The market was also held up at gunpoint in October.
