Live Boston reports a man escaped serious injury early Sunday when somebody started firing at his Jeep from just a few feet away, in what might have been a case of mistaken identity in the area of Harold and Seaver streets in Roxbury.

First responders found the man, a longtime local resident, bleeding from the head following the 1:20 a.m. shooting, but determined the wounds were from glass fragments, not bullets. Neighbors speculated the man was targeted because he was in a Jeep similar to one seen fleeing a shooting in a nearby area the night before.

Mistaken identity, failure to verify an address, etc. All common with street gang violence.
