Turns out a trash barrel isn't really a good place to hide from police

Boston Police report arresting two men on drug and gun charges on Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury Monday night - one after he was pulled out of the trash can police say he tried hiding in.

Police say drug-unit officers spotted a car whose occupants they wanted to talk to around 10:10 p.m. when they radioed for help in stopping the car. Officers in a marked cruiser quickly arrived - and quickly got hit by the car at Blue Hill Avenue and Fayston Street.

Following the collision, both occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, Jacari Cosgrove, 23, of Dorchester, was immediately placed into custody. The second suspect, Jermiah Boswell, 21, of Boston was located hiding inside of a trash barrel in the alleyway next to 276 Blue Hill Avenue.

Police say officers found a CZ P10C 9-mm gun next to the front passenger seat in the car, loaded with one round in the chamber and 14 in the magazine. Police say they also found a Polymer 80 gun - and the 31 rounds it was loaded with. Both guns had laser pointers, police say.

Both men were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm on a public way, unlawful possession of a high-capacity feeding device and resisting arrest. Boswell was also charged with trespassing - the owner of the trash barrel hadn't given him permission to go Oscar.

Innocent, etc.

From a young age the TV taught me that jumping into a trashcan was a surefire way to outwit whoever is chasing you. How could this not work?!?!

It didn't say ACME on it. Clearly wasn't going to work.

I like that the trash he was caught in, seems like it's a clear line of sight from the Fayston corner this started at. They likely clearly saw him jump in without getting out the car

Also, y'all should avoid jokes containing Black ppl and racoons

I wasn't making that association before, and now I am, and I'm not sure that actually improves anything in the world.
