Police say man brought a loaded gun to a Hyde Park fistfight, but they were able to stop him before he could use it

Boston Police report officers responding to a fight at 123 West St. in Hyde Park around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday arrived just in time to spot one of the combatants reaching under the passenger seat of the car he was in for what turned out to be a gun loaded with ten rounds.

Police say passenger Jarell Brown, 22, of Dorchester, and driver Marquis Nicholas-Taylor, 22, of Hyde Park were duking it out with several people in the street when officers arrived:

While they were attempting to break up this fight, Officers observed Brown and Nicholas in the vehicle and further observed Brown reaching underneath the passenger seat. Officers removed all parties from the vehicle and officers observed a firearm in the motor vehicle. Brown and Nicholas-Taylor were placed under arrest and taken into custody without incident.

Both Brown and Nicholas-Taylor were arrested, police say.
