Man shoots car on Mount Pleasant Avenue in Roxbury, is arrested, police say
Boston Police report officers responding to a ShotSpotter report Mt. Pleasant Avenue near Blue Hill Avenue Sunday afternoon ended up arresting a Roxbury man with a loaded gun a half mile away.
Police say officers who arrived on Mt. Pleasant found a car with "ballistic damage" to a window. An investigation led them to West Cottage Street, where they found Rickey Mims, 45, climbing a fence and packing "a Diamondback Firearm DB9 9mm with one round in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine," police say.
Mims was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, police say, dding, he is also charged with a firearm violation with three prior violent or drug crimes.
