As Boston cops were arresting the alleged human torcher, Transit cops were dealing with a teen who threw a condom at them, then tried punching his way out of arrest

Transit Police report arresting a Dorchester 14-year-old for attacking officers down the street from where Boston cops were arresting a woman allegedly trying to set people on fire in the Downtown Crossing Roche Bros.

Transit Police say that around 4:50 p.m., officers were standing by their cruiser at Summer and Arch streets when the kid threw an unwrapped condom at them and then smashed his hand into the cruiser windshield.

The juvenile and his companions then fled running through a crowd of people causing pedestrians to jump out their way and into the street to avoid being knocked over. The officers caught up to the offending juvenile a short distance away. The juvenile was non-compliant and hurled numerous expletives at the officers. Ultimately the juvenile male with a closed fist punched the officer in his chest.

Police say they got the kid under control and into a cruiser for the trip down to TPD headquarters on Southampton Street for booking on a charge of being delinquent for assault and battery on a police officer. Police add the cruiser was undamaged.

First I've heard condoms being "unwrapped", as with a gift. Did the T police mean "unrolled"? If so, was it unrolled down to the serial number?

I don't know how condoms are sold now, but back in my day, they came in little foil wrappers that you had to unwrap first before you could unroll them.

I mean, yeah, an unrolled condom isn't very impressive looking, but still.

It's an old joke.

"Did you know condoms have serial numbers?"

(Person looks surprised)

"Yeah, so, it's printed right above the ring...oh I guess you've never had to unroll one that far."

Hope they send him to condom training to learn the proper way to use it.

Well, at least the condom was not loaded.

Will he be charged with unauthorized use of a condom?

The Herald today called for the Transit Police to assign officers to ride buses to protect bus drivers. The concept is good on paper but when a group of troublesome teens board the bus and taunt and challenge the officer all hell will break out, so I'm not sure that assigning cops to buses will work.

Because we’ve taught kids it’s ok to harass officers. And there’s no consequences.
