Guy was driving around Hyde Park with a gun loaded with 15 bullets, police say
Boston Police report gang-unit officers who got a tip a guy was wandering around with a loaded gun found him driving in the area of Garfield Avenue and Washington Street in Hyde Park around 2:35 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers advised the suspect to turn off the vehicle, and exit the vehicle. The suspect refused officers orders and a struggle ensued. Officers were able to safely place the suspect into handcuffs. After a pat frisk of the motor vehicle, officers recovered a loaded firearm. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 26 with fifteen rounds in the magazine, and an illegal laser sight attachment.
Rayhan Melo Nunez, 18, of Hyde Park, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, unlawful possession of ammunition and resisting arrest, police say.
