Man shot to death on Leyland Street in Dorchester

Victim identified as Tywon Meek, 19.

Boston Police report a man was shot to death on Leyland Street, just past East Cottage Street, in Dorchester, around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Not long after the shooting, police responded to a report of carjacking nearby. Gavin Schoch reports police found the car, a white Mercedes with its windshield shot up, a little more than a half mile away on Dunmore Street in Roxbury:

I had the suspect car drive by me at a very high rate of speed on norfolk ave and now it sounds like they got one of the suspects apprehended on dunmore st.
