Pre-teen charged with Egleston Square knife threatening

Boston Police report arresting a 12-year-old on charges he threatened somebody with a knife at Washington Street and Chilcott Place on the Jamaica Plain side of Egleston Square around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say they kid was part of a group of five who first harassed the man before he pulled out a knife. Police say officers canvassing the area found the group not long after a couple blocks away behind Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Montebello Road and Haverford Street.

The pre-teen, too young to have his name released, was charged with being delinquent for assault with a dangerous weapon, police say.
