Two shot in Mattapan, one dies

Victim identified as Christian Cousins of Stoughton.

Two people were shot at Gladeside Avenue and Donwood Terrace in Mattapan around 12:25 p.m.

One of the victims, a man shot several times, was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital. The other victim, a woman, was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Boston Police report the two were sitting in a car when shot.

The man is Boston's second murder victim just today; earlier, a man was fatally shot in Ramsay Park in Roxbury.

The Mattapan shootings were among at least seven today, including three people shot at the Mildred Hailey Apartments in Jamaica Plain and a person shot at the Mobil station at Blue Hill Avenue and American Legion Highway.
