14-year-old tooling around with some friends in Hyde Park had a loaded gun in his pants, police say

Boston Police report that officers who pulled over a speeding car whose driver didn't have current registration on Wood Avenue near Oakwood Street around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The officers ordered the driver and his three passengers out of the car - and discovered that one of the passengers, a 14-year-old, had "a North American Arms .22 caliber revolver, with a defaced serial number, and loaded with five live .22 caliber cartridges" tucked in his waistband.

The teen, too young to have his name released, was charged with being delinquent for illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, police say.
