Boston Police report gang-unit officers who initially stopped a driver at Freeport and Kimball streets for speeding in a car with excessive window tinting shortly before noon yesterday arrested him after they found a gun loaded with 21 bullets - and an adapter that turned the gun into an automatic weapon. State Police report: on an incident in Dorchester this morning:
Trooper in Dorchester just spotted vehicle involved in carjacking several days ago. Suspect driving it today was wearing ski mask and sunglasses. Suspect refused to stop, crashed into 3 other cars & tried to run, but was caught & in custody, Morrissey at Freeport.

The MBTA was bustituting along the entire Ashmont Line for awhile tonight after a truck hit the bridge that carries the line over Freeport Street, but reported shortly after 10 p.m. the bridge survived the crash a lot better than the truck did and so regular service was resuming. Unclear if the truck storrowed or just sort of bounced off the bridge somehow.
