DA moves to release suspect in Dorchester gas-station murder as investigation widens

Kevin Williams, held for more than a month for the murder of a Codman Square gas-station attendant, was released on personal recognizance today at the request of Suffolk County prosecutors, who say they have uncovered new evidence in the case, now before a grand jury.
In a statement, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said:
Since Williams’ arraignment on Oct. 9, investigators have reviewed phone records, surveillance videos, and other electronic data; executed search warrants; interviewed multiple witnesses; and presented testimony to the Suffolk County Grand Jury. Those efforts, prosecutors said today, have generated substantial evidence and now warrant the defendant’s release on personal recognizance.
Williams still faces a murder charge for the shooting death of Jose Luis Finn Williams at the Fabian gas station on Washington Street at Melville Avenue on Oct. 6 and is due back in court on Nov. 19, the DA's office reports.
At his arraignment in October, Williams's attorney declared his innocence, that he'd just gotten paid at his job at a Taunton Jiffy Lube and he was getting ready to help his family move from Dorchester to the South Shore the next morning.
Officials say the murder investigation remains open; anyone with information can contact homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.

So all the comments passing judgement when the boston police falsely arrested this innocent young hardworking black kid and grandstanded how they arrested this "killer" was all for nothing because now it's back to the drawing board.
P.S. You will never see boston on an episode of the first48hrs, unless the name changes to the first 48Yrs !
That's funny
On this website, the comments didn't pass judgment or grandstand on this case at all, except for a comment by an anon using the handle "No Name Nobody" (it's the first comment.) Would you be any relation? I mean, the name is so close.
This is one of those odd cases where you've got to applaud law enforcement for admitting that the evidence is heading in a different direction, but it does stink to be this guy for the past month.

You mean to tell me the first black kid they seen that night and arrested isn't the culprit ? Shame on you boston police for constantly ruining black males lives with rushing to judgment. The same thing happen to me years ago. I was kidnapped arrested then Held for 3 years against my will until they realized I was the wrong black male and my case was dismissed. My life was ruined thanks bpd.
Imagine if he had nothing to do with it.
A month locked up is a nightmare.
Being held
Being held against your will for 1 second is a nightmare.
When your arrested they don't shake your hand and give you a doughnut.
You get manhandled, talk to like trash, striped bare, felt up.
Then your case is dissmissed.

So the post is confusing, maybe just to me. He was released from prison for the murder of Jose Williams, but still faces a murder charge for killing Jose Williams and is due in court soon? So they released him, but didn't drop the charges? Am I missing something here?
Also, if they falsely arrested a white dude or a dude with some money for this would that person really have sat in a cage for a month? I can understand if there is strong evidence against someone, but it looks like the evidence was always flimsy.
He wasn’t in prison
He was being held awaiting trial for the murder of Jose Williams without bail. Facts have come to light that has led to his release on personal recognizance. The authorities are not ready to drop the charges altogether.
