Bill at this point makes Charlie look like a bastion of rock ribbed Republicanism. Jeff Flake has a better shot than Weld and that's like saying a Dixie cup has a better chance of survival in a volcano than a Kleenex.
Weld is 73 but when you watch him walk, move, and speak he appers to be much older than that. I think the amber colored liquid had aged him, and not in a good way.
…but for the sake of the Republican Party (and Democratic for that matter) ever possibly tracking toward the center again, I hope he can make an impact.
It would be great if Republican voters decided to support a more moderate candidate this time around. But given how fervently the base loves the racist they nominated and elected last time around, I don't see any reason to expect that to happen.
Which is to say, Bill Weld has about as much in common with today's GOP as James Buchanan has with today's Democratic Party.
If so, he could soak up a lot of the antitrump sentiment.
Depending on what state you are in and how well sorted the Democratic race is, there are certainly some solid ratfucking possibilities of the sort that got Weld into the Governor's office to begin with.

Just want to remind everyone that he was Gary Johnson's running mate.
He has no chance
in the current Republican party, but it will be amusing to see him skewer Trump in a debate. As Charles Pierce says, he doesn't give a damn
