Boston Police report arresting a Roxbury man on gun and drug charges after a detective heard what sounded like gunfire at Bowdoin and Draper streets shortly after 4 p.m. yestertday, then saw a guy run to a car and drive away.
Police say the detective notified a dispatcher of the car's direction - even as the BPD ShotSpotter system was reporting gunfire at the intersection - and that officers pulled the car over about a half mile away on Ceylon Street.
Shaudi Griffin, 23, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm - the Glock 42 .380 gun police say was in his car's center console - unlawful possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. He was also charged with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute for the 29 or so plastic bags filled with marijuana police say officers also found in his car.
Innocent, etc.
