Cape men charged with threatening man with a gun in Theater District garage
Boston Police report arresting two men from Hyannis on charges they used a gun loaded with ten bullets to threaten somebody in an altercation in the Tufts Medical Center garage on Tremont Street early Sunday.
Police say Igor Caldiera, 24, and Euddyvandro Castro, 21 approached a third man in the garage and wanted to fight him, around 1:20 a.m.
When the victim refused to engage, Castro instructed Caldiera to retrieve a firearm from inside a nearby parked motor vehicle. Caldiera quickly returned and threatened the victim with the firearm while Castro pushed him to the ground. After a few tense moments, the two suspects walked away from the victim without further incident.
Police say officers arrived before the pair could exit the garage in their pickup. A gun-sniffing dog was called in and sniffed out "a Stoeger STR-9 handgun loaded with ten rounds of ammunition from inside the glovebox," police say.
Castro was charged with assault and battery, assault by means of a dangerous weapon and improper storage of a firearm, police say. Caldiera was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say,
