Man nabbed with loaded, mostly plastic 'ghost' gun in Dorchester; was already wanted for killing somebody with his car, police say
Boston Police report officers responding to a call about a man with a gun on Jacob Street in Dorchester early on Jan. 1 found Eumaai Springer, 26, packing an unregistered, mostly plastic kit gun loaded with eight rounds.
Police say officers arrived on Jacob Street around 3:35 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers observed Springer on Jacob Street and demanded he show his hands. Springer refused, and as he emerged from behind a motor vehicle, officers immediately observed a firearm in Springer’s waist area.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device. The gun was a Polymer 80 PF940C, a kit which is compatible with Glock components but which does not come with a serial number - and which is not legal for sale in Massachusetts.
Police add Springer was already wanted on a warrant issued last month for motor-vehicle homicide by negligent operation. They did not provide details on that incident.
Innocent, etc.
