The T is safe
It was just a few days ago that Faker said the T is safe because "accidents happen on the highway too".
The T is Generally Safe
The underfunded and poorly managed MBTA needs to do a lot better in general with it's safety measures. That being said, I'm not sure this picture of a fender bender is a good example of the dangers of riding the T.
I'm betting driving a personal car is much, much more dangerous.
Underfunded?
You’re going to need to provide proof. Two years ago they said they have enough money and can’t figure out how to spend it.

That's what the Baker Administration Said
Charlie Baker, the guy who hates public transportation and was responsible for saddling the T with generational debt from the Big Dig? The guy who let infrastructure crumble all across the T? You don't think they could've spent money to repair a decrepit stairway at JFK? You don't think they could've accelerated the anti-collision system on the green line that the feds demanded more than 10 years ago.
Forgive me if I don't take the fiscal decisions of him and his team at face value regarding the T. Part of the poor management I mentioned earlier is saying they can't come up with ways to spend money to improve the T....while they're raising fares and cutting service.
Where? When?
Show me.
I don’t know why they didn’t fix the stairwell at JFK, but it sounds like it wasn’t because of a lack of funding.
I totally agree with you re-the management sucking. No argument there.
I just gave you two examples

STAIRWELL AT JFK
I am not sure that stairwell falls under the MBTA or that's massdot. I'm almost positive its massdot who owns it, its part of the bridge.
Statistics please.
Statistics please.
Motor vehicle collision deaths are entirely normalized to the point that you don't notice them.
Congrats
That driver passed the final test and can now be promoted to Green Line operator. /s
In Fairness
It's not clear why the busses collided. Recently there was a well reported and depressing article in the Washington post about a bus driver in Denver and how horrible she is treated by passengers on her route.
If a passenger was harassing the MBTA driver (as is often the case in Denver) I wouldn't be critical if they had an accident like the one photographed above.
I hope no one was injured
It seems that no bikes were injured in creating this accident, so at least there is a small silver lining.
At least there were no bikes …..
… on that bike rack that was knocked off.
That would really suck for the owner.
I guess there is no info yet about passenger or driver injuries.
The owner of the bike would at least have a good story.
At the bike shop:
"What the hell happened here?"
"Got hit by a bus. Couple of buses, actually. Amazingly, I was fine."
