Police say woman was driving through Roxbury with a loaded gun and drugs, although they say it was her failure to turn her lights on that first grabbed their attention
Boston Police report officers arrested a Dorchester woman on gun and drug charges after initially stopping her for driving down Quincy Street near Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury without her headlights on around 5 p.m. on Monday.
Police say officers pulled Dennise Rivera, 28, over on Blue Hill Avenue near Winthrop Street and ordered her out of her car after a check showed she had a suspended license.
She was placed under arrest without incident. Officers recovered a plastic baggy containing a white rock like substance and various pills from Ms. Rivera. Officers also recovered a loaded firearm from inside of the motor vehicle. The firearm was determined to be a Polymer 80, Glock 17, loaded with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.
She was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute and driving with a suspended license, police say.

Reminsent of the Dorchester meth bust many years back
Fifteen or so years ago there was a bust of a man who received packages containing crystal meth components which he then finished manufacturing into salable crystal meth. Neighbors knew something was not right. Various police agencies had their eye on him.
What led to the bust however was when a local PD pulled over a customer leaving the man's house for a minor violation. A light might have been out.
