Tornadoes hits Mansfield, North Attleboro, Weymouth

And that would explain all the debris on the Northeast Corridor tracks in Mansfield. The National Weather Service reports on why there was so much debris on the Northeast Corridor tracks:

The NWS survey team has confirmed a tornado touchdown in North Attleboro and Mansfield this morning. Further details regarding path length and EF rating will be forthcoming after the survey has been completed.

Some major damage in Weymouth, as well.

I was told last time that we have on average 2 tornadoes a year and that since we had none last year the 4 we had had up till then was average. We have now doubled that.....

Yes it was right along the Amtrak/commuter rail lines
