Darwin's waiting room at the Walpole Wal-Mart

John escapes from the Rte. 1 Wal-Mart in one piece:

... It is literally the place where humanity goes. TO DIE.

Never in my life have I seen such a motley collection of trash-a-licious people in one place.

The woman in the checkout line in front of us was in her late 50s. But was still rocking bleached blond hair, giant "gold" and "diamond" rings on every single finger. And 3-inch fake nails done up in multi-colors with little rhinestones on each nail.

She was buying 4 large bags of beef jerky. Seriously. ...

Typical classist bigotry. It's so hard to be a bigot these days - there's just not a lot of people you can ridicule any more. It just takes the fun out of life. Thank got for WalMart and McDonalds - what would the Better People do with their bile without them.

There are plenty of people to ridicule. Picking on the lower class just seems to be easiest at Wal-Mart.

If you are interested in a "fun" time, try the Walmart on the Lynnway.

Follow up your visit to the Walpole Wal-Mart with a scrumptious feast at the Old Country Buffet in the Walpole Mall. Mm, mm, them's good eatin!

Apropos of nothing, I have a lot of trouble saying "Kohl's at the Walpole Mall." Fortunately, I rarely have much reason to utter that phrase.

Usta work at one for summer work during college, and he's right.

He did leave out the upper and middle class that shops there two [they really do!] and how odd and fascinating their shopping habits and demeanor can also be.

I'd say it attracts the class-less, but I'm not talking about income levels here.

Are we done with the looking down one's nose at the appearance of others, rather than selecting our friends by the content of their character? Really?

Good.

From the map that he posted, he lives in Dorchester or South Boston and shops at the South Bay Target, which is not known for its upper-class customer base.

I agree. I need a shower after visiting that WalMart. Its chaos. The lighting seems dimmer and everything seems covered in a strange dusty film.

I am much more comfortable in the South Bay Target. I was not raised as trailer trash, but city trash (but also have my masters... if that is what we base non-trash as...). I was at the South Bay Target once and a fist fight broke out 3 feet away from me as I was in line for the register. No one batted an eye, we all scooted over a little (did a big of duck and weave). But I still would take the SB Target over that Walpole WalMart any day!
