Photos showing how everybody's favorite quaint little New England fishing port was turned into a remote Alaskan village for a Sandra Bullock movie.
Via Boston Daily Blog, which discusses how Boston has become the Toronto of the movie industry (i.e., the place that stands in for other places).

Well, What Do Juneau!
Tlingit iconography ... Rockport ...
(norman coordinate!)
Supposed to be Sitka
But I bet Juneau that. ...
I did, but
next time Alaska anyway!
The certainly spruced up the place.
Sitka?
You had me hoping for a minute that someone was turning The Yiddish Policeman's Union into a movie.
And I Thought...
... that this was a thread about supporting actors in Three Stooges flicks.

Someone is
And that someone is the Coen Brothers.

No, really.
Why didn't they just go to Sitka?
That's the part I don't understand. They would have many more hours each day to film between April and September, that's for sure.
I was wondering how they were going to handle a mountain backdrop.
