Devra First reports that the fancy-shmancy French place that replaced Bob the Chef (sorry, Bob's Southern Bistro) in October is already out of business. Next up: Upscale burger joint? Oh, wait, how about a soul-food place. With music. Nah, that'll never work.

Sigh.
Please, fix the tag. This place is in Roxbury, not the South End.

and 604 Columbus Avenue (at Northampton St) is, by any reasonable standard, part of the South End.
Here's an 1867 map of Boston, probably the last one published before Boston annexed Roxbury. Zoom in and scroll over towards the left side of the map. On Columbus Avenue, Boston ends and Roxbury starts around Lenox Street. (Back then, Mass. Ave. was called Chester Park and Chester Square.)
