Mixed Feelings
My grandparents lived there for quite a few years. It was a nicer place then. It's been almost 30 years since my grandfather died, the latter of the two to go.
Not a great place now, by any stretch. Still, the place holds some nice family memories for me, from when I was a little kid up to my early twenties.

6 units only?
So I notice that part of the place is fenced off. Is the rest being left as is? Perhaps I should do more research.
The whole thing is supposed to come down
It's being done in phases, I guess.
I wouldn't think re-building could start....
...until all the demolition is done.
There are basically two parts to the project
One is a largeish apartment building, mainly for seniors, right at the corner of Washington and Beech, so what they're doing now (tearing down the building there first) might make sense.
Video of the demolition
Here.
Life's Needed
Reading these comments about this development I can strongly say that you people REALLY need to get a life and stop living in a bubble of paranoia. If you do not want to live around certain people I suggest you move to the corn fiends of nebraska or farther out of the city.
New Hampshire might be a great place for you. After reading the dedham thread I was sickened by the comments. I guess you ahve lumped all in one catergory due to the actions of a few.
Get a LIFE and Sullivan talking about what it is now. Anotber one who should get a life. Who the hell was your grandparents anyway sullivan? You do not look familar to me at all nor does your name.
