Fire races through Dorchester three deckers

Firefighters are on Fox Street battling a fire that broke out around 6:45 p.m. at 8 Fox St., but which quickly spread to several neighboring buildings on Fox and Juliette Street.

Fire commanders declared a sixth alarm at 7 p.m. and issued a request for four additional ladder companies. The bulk of the fire was declared out shortly after 7:25 p.m.

The Boston Fire Department reports no injuries. The Red Cross says at least 31 people are now homeless.

Very impressive work on this one, not too often there is heavy fire throughout three 3-deckers and its knocked down in 45 or so minutes.
