Baroptic lets users watch streaming live views of popular clubs in several cities, including Boston.

I've got to wonder if these businesses disclose the presence of cameras to patrons...

Do the bands want their performances transmitted over the web this way? Is there sound, or just pictures?

I seen BarOptic, they look pretty cool. I first noticed them when I walked into a lounge in Denver ( a sign was posted as a notice that they are live on BarOptic.com). So I checked them out...

They don't transmit sound, just video and seem to concentrate more on the crowd than individuals. I say cool!

I first seen BarOptic.com in a lounge in Denver, when I walked in there was a notice on the door that I may be live on BarOptic.com... SO I went home to check it out. It's actually pretty cool as they tote, "real time advertising" for the clubs. If you look at the cameras you notice that they really concentrate on more of the crowd than the individual so it would be hard to look at the cam and say, "hey thats Judy". It's more like, hey thats a brunette and she looks hot!
